The story of this game is that a year after Link killed Gannon, a wizard puts Zelda in an eternal slumber, she can only be waken up by recovering the Triforce. Also, Ganon's minions are trying to revive him by killing Link and spreading his blood over Gannon's ashes. (Sorry for my sketchy translation of the story).
This game is very different from it's prequel, first of all you travel in an overworld like an RPG, monsters periodically appear and attack you, then the game switches to a side scroling fighting sequence where you can kill the monsters to raise experience points and gain levels like an RPG. Your goal in this game is to go to the six palaces and restore six crystals to the palaces to open the way to Gannon's palace. If you don't know already the final boss is none other than your own shadow.
| Graphics | Music | Sound | Control | Overall | |
| The overlworld graphics are kind of smallish, but the characters look great in battles and in towns | The game's overworld theme is a remix of the Zelda theme which is pretty cool, otherwise the music is average | Cool effects like sword clanging are commonplace | After you get used to dueling enemies like Iron Knuckle, control becomes a snap | This a very fun game, but it's quite a departure from the prequel, it's sitll worth checking out anyway |
You know the statues of IronKnuckle in palaces? Try hitting them with your sword, sometimes red magic jars come out, other times red IronKnuckles, eep!
