Author's Note: Please excuse me for the extreme suckiness of this poem. I wrote it back in November for my english class about 7 minutes before it was due. Also, the games in this poem may not be consistant with my game list through trading and writing about games that I used to have when I was little, not currently.
.
I can remember way back to a happier day
When all I would do was just sit there and play.
Nintendo games are my favorite things,
And one of these favorites is Arkista's Rings.
I can remember the times staying up all night
Playing game after game of 10 Yard Fight.
Those carefree days (Those ones before school)
Were spent playing Chiller and Championship Pool.
I started each day, controller in hand,
Discovering the secrets of mazes in Clu Clu Land.
Those are some of my favorites but as you can see,
I also love Zelda and Mario 3.
Metroid and Punch-Out!! and Astyanax
And Gauntlet and Contra and Willow and Klax.
Those are some of my favorite games too,
But so aren't Batman and Bee 52.
Well first grade came and Nintendo got put aside,
But I just couldn't stop playing Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Double Dragon, Ninja Gaiden, Tetris: I love them all:
I also love Lemmings and RBI Baseball.
School was getting tougher with its quizzes and its
tests,
And I soon found a layer of dust atop my copy of Best of
the Best.
For the longest time, my Nintendo was just sitting there,
But then one day I popped in my copy of Bucky O'Hare.
And then I rediscovered how fun it used to be
To stay up eating pizza playing Mega Man 3.
And now I play my favorite games almost every afternoon:
Like Hillsfar and Hydlide and Stack-Up and Sqoon.
Although that I'm 15 now and my parents yell, "GET A
JOB!",
I'd rather sit down and play through A Boy and His Blob.
Every time I use it, I remember the first time I took it
outta the box
While playing some other favorites like Hogan's Alley or
Abadox.
I will always be a part of it and it a part of me:
The little gray box with the funny Japanese name that I
got when I was 3.
And no matter how tired I am, and no matter how much I'm
stressed,
There will always be some time for some good old NES.
