Weapon power-up: Hold B until a beep is heard. Release B to release a more powerful shot.
Correct level order: The game must be played in the following order to successfully defeat the end Boss: Spain, Egypt, Italy, India, Africa, Germany, and Arabia.
Correct jewel order: Place the jewels in the following order at the end of the game: yellow, white, green, orange, blue, purple, red and black.
Warp Zones:
Level 1: Quickly head butt the first pair of pigs, then run to the right to find a warp on the first ledge.
Level 3: Aim for the tenth wall on the fifth speeder course to find a warp to level 5.
Level 4: Fall halfway onto the first platform in the last section of this level. Then, quickly and repeatedly jump up to find a warp to level 6.
Level 6: Ride the snake as high as possible in the second section of this level. Then, run right, jump, and run right again to find a warp.
Control dragon: Defeat the tool worker and take the stick/sword from him. Use that sword to defeat the dragon during the second half of level 1. Position your character on the dragon and press A to ride it. Tap A to fly and press B to shoot fireballs.
To get the 'Happy Ending' without playing two players, just get to level 99 and take the Crystal to Room A0. In room B3, fire at the last dude untill it's covered with a bubble. Instead of popping the bubble, press start (only if you have one life in reserve) with player two and you both will be there to get the good ending!
Every time you get 1000 exp. points (the number in the lower left corner) you get another heart and one additional move.

Bugs-
In mission 1, go up to the point where the two lopars (one is holding the oil drum) attack you. Knock down one of the lopars just in front of the ladder on the left side of the screen, then walk around to the right and hide around the corner of the building. If you did it right, when the guy stands up he'll mysteriously levitate up the ladder.
Next, take the oil drum and walk close to the corner of the building until you see that your feet seem to be slightly above the ground. Throw the drum, and watch as it magically jitters up and out of the screen.
Finally, go to the end of the first section, walk all the way to the right until you're next to the wall and between the two pipe things. Press up on the control pad and you will magically levitate into the air.
Also, there's this neeto thing in mission 2. After you climb the wire fence and get the bat from the williams, climb down and walk slowly to the right. When the williams with the dynamite appears, move up as far as you can, up against the pile of girders. Williams will follow you. Now, climb up the fence before williams can walk past the girders (he'll stop as soon as you start climbing). go back as far left as the game will let you, and then go back right. The williams will be gone; however, you can swing your bat, or kick, at the place where he was and get points! you can do this as long as time permits. Fill up on your hearts here!
Keep in mind that the scrollback trick works in a couple other places, including the chintai at the end of mission 2.
Attain a score between 70,000 and 79,999 points. Then, accept a lift back to Duckburg with Launch pad to stop at a bonus level on the way.
World -1: Stand on top of the exit pipe on world 1-2 and scroll the screen as far right as possible. Run to the right, then back to the left as far as the end of the pipe, then back again several times. The screen to reveal a blank space on the far right side of the bricks. Jump up and break the only second and third bricks from the right. Place Mario on the pipe with one foot off the edge and face him to the left. Press A to jump, and press Right while he is in the air. Do not break the remaining brick. The back of Mario's head should hit the brick and pull him in. Walk through the bricks to the right and immediately enter the first pipe on the left.
Hints:
28 P-Wings: Complete the game, then press Start at the ending screen. The next game will begin with 28 P-Wings per brother.
Warps-
Level 1 (1)- Go into level three and stand on the last white block (near the end). Hold down until you fall through and are transparent. Run to the end of the stage. You should be behind the black stuff. Keep going and meet up with toad. He'll give you the warp wistle.
Level 1 (2)- Go to the Castle and get to where there is a skeleton koopa (right before the first door). Fly up into the sky and push right. Do that until the screen stops scrolling, and press up. You should get to a room with a treasure box. Open the box and you will get the whistle.
Level 2- Beat all of the levels except the last and then use your happmer to break through the rock at the top of the end of the right screen. When you get through, you have to beat the Fire Brothers to get the whistle.
Switch boomerangs: Throw boomerangs and switch turtles while they are in-flight. The new turtle will catch the boomerangs and place them in his inventory.
Duplicate pizza: Enter a sewer, take a pizza, then exit. Return to the same sewer to find the same pizza again.
Eliminate Roller Car: Press Select to exit the Turtle Wagon on level 3, after a Roller Car appears.
The Final Guardian: Go to the left side of the screen and rapidly tap B when fighting your shadow character.
