Jackal is the Konami brand 1 to 2 player simultaneous game that has a storyline which involves a U.S. rescue mission to Vietnam for missing P.O.W.s. For some reason I, and a large number of other NES players never did hear anything about this NES game when it came out, or in the NES's latter years. But just because there is no word about this game doesn't mean it sucks. quite the contrary. I am still puzzled why it never became a top hit on the NP Power Charts. Or even receive word-of-mouth attention from other NES players. Personally I never heard of the game until I made a trade deal with Skatarad. He sent in a few extra games for the trade and one of them was this title. It was the best of all the games I got. And surely deserves a second look over by other vintage gamers. And at the very least, some attention on other NES sites. So here it is, finally getting the attention it deserves. The overhead view of the jeep you can drive. A cannon that can be upgraded to a rocket launcher and in turn a rocket launcher that can be upgraded to shoot shrapnel when it explodes. And the Unique gun that only fires in the direction you scroll in [which is always North or up]. Makes this a pretty unique yet excellent 1-2 player game. It's pretty difficult on one player. but some help with a second player sure makes the game a lot easier. So take it from me and this site and check out this sleeper hit.
